(the view from their rental house)
This was "technically" Lily's first year to visit the Sams family during their annual trip. Last year when we visited, Lily was in my tummy. I still got to partake last year in the annual and notorious pool volleyball tournament because Branden was there and also pregnant, so it was even teams. This year we missed the "main event" tournament because we drove down late, but I got to play the next day in the duos tourney! I really tried to shine and do my best because of my teammate, it was Kevin. We were called "Just Cuz" and anyone who knows the Sams kids, they are competitive...Kevin is no different! Kevin is also a beast at any sport and was by far the best player (sorry other cousins) haha. We play up to 11 points, best two out of three games. In the first round Kevin and I played "Team Barricade" (Cade & Justin). We dominated the first game, lost by one point in the second and lost by two points in the third game :( Thankfully Lily was inside with Aunt Susan, so she didn't have to witness her Momma's bad sportsmanship haha.
Lily also made a new friend, Harper. Although Harper is a month younger, Harper was a little bigger than Lily because of course Lily is a shrimp. They got along well and spent most of the time just staring at each other. Uncle Jack made the joke that even if they didn't get along, they couldn't get in a hair pulling fight because neither of them had any haha.
Jf caught an awesome mahi that they cooked us for dinner. Uncle Jack made some delicious garlic chicken and Aunt Susan made some fabulous lobster mashed potatoes (oh Jamie, these were amazing we must try to make them). We were so tired by 9 pm, we headed back to the hotel. Lily did some scooting around on the bed for a bit...trying her hardest to crawl.
...but after putting on pjs and a few minutes of playing Clash of Clans with Daddy, she was sound asleep.
We can't wait until next year when cousin Ridge will also be there and the three babies can play more on their own! We left our hotel to drive home pretty early, so Lily and I slept most of the two hour ride home. I did manage to get a cool shot over the crocodile preserve!
