Lily Understands How to Get What She Wants...

or so she thinks! So you know how most babies whine or cry when they need something such as milk or sleep? Well Lily will fuss when she is hungry or has a dirty diaper. What does she do when she is tired? She screams the highest pitched squeal I have ever heard come out of a babies mouth. It's actually quite impressive ;) This video is only about 30% of her loudest haha.

At her last pediatrician appointment, she got her two month shots. While she technically received 8 different boosters, 5 of them were in one shot so she only got poked three times. We thankfully had a bottle handy which made the tears stop immediately. Thankfully her braveness kept Mommy from crying! Haha. She was 9.9 lbs which was only in the 30 something percentile, meaning she is a bit underweight. The doctor said she is more than thriving so she isn't at all concerned. Plus Lily was in  the 40-30 percentile the whole time in my belly. What is surprising is she is 22.5 inches long, which is in the 60 something percentile. Wait a minute...my child is skinnier and taller than average? Something is wrong here haha.
She is a drooling and talking machine! She wears bibs most of the day or I would be changing her outfit 10 times a day. It is crazy how quickly they change! I mainly pump and she drinks from the bottle at this point. Although I produce enough, it apparently doesn't come out quick enough for her impatient butt! She is also starting to bite down hard, so yeah that really isn't working for me haha. Even though she is all gums, girl has some strength! I finish off her feedings after the bottle with a little bonding time. ;)
She is holding her head up most of the time. The pediatrician said she is very strong and on track to sit-up and walk early. Only time will tell! She takes less naps and they are usually only 30 minutes to an hour. Hell, I think today she took three 20 minute naps haha. I def can't complain though because we get lots of play time together and she still sleeps about 8-10 hours at night. She usually goes to bed around 10 pm after a bath and sleeps until 6 or 7 am. After a quick diaper change and a bottle, she goes back to sleep for about 3 more hours! We are still swaddling her and she sleeps in the pack n play which is still in our room. I will probably leave her in there until her 4 month appointment lol. Once she is completely rolling over on her own and stronger, I would feel more comfortable with being so far from her at night. Hey...like my cousin Maryanne said, whatever lets Lily and I sleep through the night! Haha. Her are a few shots of the princess dreaming!

Lily was baptized on Mother's Day. It was a great day! We were surrounded by so much of our family, including Helene, Jean and Dan! Julie unfortunately was in the middle of finals, but hopes to visit this summer. It was so awesome to watch Lily with her grandparents. She has a special bond with all of them! It is also great to watch her with her Godparents. A smile magically appears on Dan and Jamie's face when they cuddle her, it is precious! I know God will continue to watch over our family and bless us!

 So a few side notes...
Lily has had some pretty dry skin on her eye brows and some random spots on her head, legs, and arms. After applying lotion several times a day, I tried the healing balm from Honest. To any moms with babies, it is awesome! I tried it on my feet also and they are as soft as Lily's skin haha! I order their stuff online because I get discounts for bundling diapers and wipes, but you can also buy some of their stuff at Nordstrom. I noticed Publix is starting to carry some of their items also!

I have also become obsessed with fruit-infused water! At first I thought it was just some froufrou stuff they served me at my hair salon, but realized it is quite delicious and healthy. I know, I know why not just drink lots of water and fruit? Well, that doesn't always work for me. I wasn't really much of a casual water drinker before pregnancy. This helps me quench my thirst and fill me up without all the sugar in juice and actually has other health benefits depending on the fruit I use! It is super easy to do. Slice up the fruit you want (there are recipes online that help target certain things like energy or fat burning). I usually fill my gallon pitcher about a third way with fruit, put 2 or so cups of ice on top and fill the rest with cold water. To meet the maximum taste you should leave it in the frig for about 4 hours before drinking. Once you consume the gallon of water, you can usually fill it back up two more times with water before the fruit loses its potency.

Gracie still isn't too impressed with Lily. She mainly just stares at her. She usually won't get too close to her either, it's pretty funny how she is scared of her! She does pace a bit when Lily is upset though and checks on her when she is in a room alone. In this pic she is basically exhausted from listening to Lily have a bad day. :)

Here is another video of Lily (big surprise). She loves it when JF whistles, smiling and laughing the whole time. Last night JF happened to make a bomb sound right after and her face went very serious right away. He did it several more times and we managed to get it on video. She apparently doesn't like crashing sounds lol.
